Texas Children's Hospital Selects MedeFinance Revenue Cycle Management Solution

ATB Manager™ Provides Real-Time Business Intelligence on Key Drivers of Revenue Cycle Performance

OAKLAND, Calif.– June 16, 2004 — Emeryville-based MedeFinance, a leading provider of revenue cycle analytics for the healthcare industry, announced today that Texas Children's Hospital, located in Houston Texas, has signed an agreement to implement ATB Manager to monitor and measure key performance metrics of the revenue and accounts receivable cycle on a real-time basis.

ATB Manager, MedeFinance's web-based business intelligence system currently installed in more than 400 U.S. hospitals, integrates and standardizes financial information and provides real-time revenue cycle performance metrics via the Internet. Prior to working with MedeFinance, data regarding revenue cycle activities was stored in disparate databases throughout the hospital, making it difficult to analyze revenue cycle performance and make effective decisions for optimizing cash flow. ATB Manager will be implemented to provide management with an integrated and value-added technology solution for revenue cycle management.

“With MedeFinance's business intelligence solution, we will have a systematic approach to revenue cycle management and be able to proactively analyze and benchmark revenue cycle data and metrics to increase net revenues,” stated Donna Poole, Director of Business Services at Texas Children's Hospital. “Real-time access to consolidated data will be invaluable in helping us identify choke points in the revenue cycle so that we can make the best possible decisions toward improving our financial performance.”

“Texas Children Hospital's selection of MedeFinance's technology validates our integrated approach to revenue cycle management and the growing level of importance healthcare organizations are placing on improving revenue cycle performance,” stated Jim Quist, Chairman and CEO of MedeFinance. “We are excited about our further expansion into the pediatric hospital sector, and look forward to working with the entire team at Texas Children's Hospital.”
